...is half asleep

just a quick outfit post from the last couple days, and an apology for the slowness of posts of late - it's all uni's fault! I'm currently awake at 1.30 in the morning working on my folio for a job interview tomorrow - why have i not done this before?!

our three weeks of queensland winter* are coming to an end, so i'm getting in the dress/leggings combo before it becomes unbearably hot again, which is what a lot of northern-hemisphere-ites seem to be wearing coming back into winter, and i must say i'm a bit excited that just for a little while we're all wearing the same thing.

ps. the day of the second outfit, it did strike me as i walked out the door that i resembled a certain cartoon character (and yes, omg, there is an 'official homepage' - who knew?!), but you know what? i think that made me like it even more!

hope you are all well and much better at time management than me. loves!

*may or may not be a slight exaggeration

update

new header! i felt the original header was too fussy for my minimalist aesthetic. and i get bored quickly.

the end.

i got chills, they're multiplying

1 : 2 : 3 : 4

the last couple of weeks have felt so cold that i have been thinking much less about what will look good and much more about what will make my bones feel less like they're about to snap in half because they're so cold. and yes, it is only 17 degrees right now (google says that's 62.6 degrees fahrenheit for those not using the metric system), but i am a queenslander and we just don't have clothes for this kind of cold! i am actually wearing a flannel shirt today, it's cute flannel, but flannel none the less. hence, no outfit post today, because frumpy is not particularly inspiring.

it's funny how during the whole summer i couldn't wait for winter because i was looking at all these amazing layered outfits from the colder northern hemisphere, but it's not so much fun now i'm here and i am willing the summer to come back to me.

this is what i wish i was wearing today (shiny things to catch the light of course!):

1 : 2 : 3 : 4 : 5 : 6

but in fact this more closely resembles what i'm actually wearing today:

1 : 2 : 3 : 4 : 5

bleh! cold, cold, go away. come again another day!

balmain love

there have been a number of times recently when i've eyed an amazing.... (jacket, pants) and thought "wow! who is that?... oh right, it's balmain". so i thought i would share with you some of my favourites.

i adore this jacket. must must have.

these are the perfect leather pants. i bought myself some cheap pleather the other day, but it's just not the same.

they do embellishment like nobody's business. i am literally drooling revisting these photos. i love how edgy these pieces look, but at the same time there is a refined elegance to them that runs through all of their seasons. mmm mmm!

channelling carrie

yesterday i decided to channel carrie in paris in celebration of the fact that i was finally going to see the sex and the city movie - i even wore my name plate necklace, although you can't really see it here. unfortunately, i had to go to uni first so i had to wear flats (lots of walking!) but rest assured, i changed into my killer new heels before heading to the cinema.

striped top by cotton on : skirt was a gift from my mother : sheers from coles : shoes from shoobiz

ps - i loved the movie. so sweet!

killer heels and acid wash jeans

i apologise, but this is going to be a "look at my new shoes! look at my new shoes!" post. but seriously, look at my new shoes!

they're from wittner and they're a birthday present from my lovely boy.
(on a side note, he told me that he wanted to buy me these shoes for my birthday (!!!), but do you think i can find them anywhere in this country?! no - i am devastated.)

anyway, last night we went to see 'the dark knight' and i took my shoes out on their first outing. considering the 5 inch heel, they're quite comfortable, and i kept looking at my feet and squealing with delight (quietly. to myself. in my head.) they have just enough elements of the margiela shoes (and also those sexy marni wedges) in them to keep me satisfied.

i wore them with my new diy jeans that i bleached yesterday after taking inspiration from kirsty over at that's just my vibe. i'm a little disappointed they didn't come out as white as hers did, but not too bad for a first attempt.
