2009 here we come!

it's new years eve tomorrow! weee! i'm so excited - it's the only night of the year i'm not a nanna and manage to stay out past midnight. last year we ended up walking home at 5am cause we got sick of waiting for a cab... my favourite shoes broke - boo! anyway, it was a brilliant night and i have high hopes for this one. of course, a fantabulous outift is needed so i put together a couple dream outfits and one that is very similar to what i probably will end up wearing (click for product info).

of course there must be one pair of shoes for the pre drinks house party and one pair for the shlepping about the city until all hours. i am going hunting tomorrow for some sexy/edgy black wedges for the latter purpose. also, it's extremely effing hot here right now, and i have seen quite a few people lately wandering around with a beautiful fan to keep themselves cool - tres chic!

a pearl crown brooch and mcqueen heels - how appropriate!

and here's what i will probably be wearing - and if i don't find suitable sexy wedges, i'll probably just wear flats all night, bleh.

wishing you all a wonderous entrance into the new year!

catch up

just a couple of catch up outfit posts as promised - from when the weather is too hot for anything but shorts and a t-shirt... and bad hair apparently! must find a new hairdresser, mine up and moved to london on me - rude!

christmas bits!

hello lovelies! i hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing christmas. mine was very low-key just with my parents and little brother at their country home, it was perfect really! we had more family arrive today for a slightly larger christmas celebration which also was enjoyable, if not slightly stressful as larger family gatherings tend to be! no outfit photos i'm afraid (i will post a couple catch-ups soon though) but i wore something very similar to this outfit.

my absolute favourite part of christmas is wrapping the presents! i had mine planned weeks in advance (bit of a nerd, i know). here's how they turned out - who says christmas has to be red and green?!

here is one photo of me later in the day that my brother took out the front of our parents house. i'm wearing a nanna knee rug around my shoulders because it was cold! which as all you aussies will know is quite a change to the usual - "it's so hot i want you to throw water balloons and spray a hose at me" hehehe.

so, do tell me. how was your christmas? was it everything you expected? was santa nice to you? :)

numero due

two outfit posts in one day, ooh! aren't you lucky?

my job requires me to work friday nights (bleurgh) so that's what the second outfit is for. i do work in fashion retail (kind of...) so of course i have to wear what i sell. unfortunately the clothes i sell are not really the style that i would normally wear, so getting dressed on friday afternoon is always a little bit of a challenge, especially when the weather has been so hot! the skirt here is part of the work 'uniform' - it's actually a dress, but i have folded the top section over to wear it as a skirt.

anyway, off to work i go! *muah!*

i fought the law and the law won

so the title has absolutely no bearing on this post, but that song is stuck in my head! (well... just that one line of that song, i actually have no idea how the rest of it goes)

hoorah! an outfit post! i realise i've been a bit slack lately, sorry. i'm sure there are many of you out there like me, but i really love the combination of edgy and ultra feminine elements - it makes for a beautiful juxtaposition! another favourite combination of mine is my faux-leather pants with a beautiful cream coloured lace, long sleeved shirt i have. i haven't got a decent photo of that one, but perhaps when the weather is a little friendlier.

this is the first outing for this top, i got it at forever new last week for 50% off (score!). the leather skirt i've had for a while, i picked it up at a second hand place for quite cheap. this outfit seemed like an obvious choice today because it is disgustingly humid here and flowy silk just seems to make it that much more bearable!

i tried to do something a little different with the photos today, it didn't quite work out as well as i had hoped for, hence the typical blue wall, but i thought i'd show you all anyway
. hope you all have a wonderful weekend of not stressing out about christmas. go do your shopping now - don't wait till wednesday! x
